What is paint correction?

Paint correction is machine polishing that removes a very thin layer of clear coat to level out defects. Most of what makes paint look tired, like swirl marks from automatic car washes, fine scratches, haze and oxidation, sits in the top of the clear coat. Polishing it smooth lets light reflect evenly again, which is what brings back that deep, wet-looking gloss.

1-step or 2-step polish?

A 1-step polish is a single stage of polishing. It removes up to 65 to 75% of swirls and brings back the gloss. It's the right choice for paint that's in decent shape but has lost its shine.

A 2-step polish is a cut and polish. The first step uses a stronger compound to remove heavier defects, and the second step refines the finish to a high gloss. It removes up to 80 to 90% of swirls and is the better choice for dark cars or paint with heavy swirling.

Scratches that go through the clear coat can't be polished out completely. If you need more than a 2-step, full paint correction is quoted on request.

Keep the results
